Bra Size Conversion Chart

The cup and band charts below are approximations of how sizes usually convert across different systems. For example, a 12DD AUS is approximately the same as a 34DD US, a 34DD UK, and a 75E EU.

See the bottom of the page for more information on the sizing in Cloth Habit bra patterns.

cloth habit bra sizing

The Harriet uses UK bra sizes.

The Watson uses UK/US band sizes with EU cup sizes. (Instead of double letters, the alphabet goes from D to E to F, and so on.)

For consistency in sizing, I will be updating the Watson with UK cup sizes in 2017. (The pattern itself will not change so if you have the current edition, continue to use the size that fits you best, whatever the number/letter it is!)

Please in mind that bra fit has many variables, so don't worry if your size in one pattern is not the exact same size you wear in another pattern. Underwired bras have a much closer fit than non-wired bras such as the Watson pattern, which is a simpler bra style in measurements and drafting and has a more relaxed fit. In order to choose the best size to start with, follow the measuring instructions in each pattern individually.
